Unusual accommodation in Alsace almost always follows the same path: nature, a treehouse, a transparent bubble, a winemaker’s barrel. They make fine nights, but they assume a car, a village, and a plan built around the accommodation. There is another way to stay somewhere out of the ordinary, a quarter of an hour from central Strasbourg.
The classic offer, and its limit
Treehouses in the Sundgau, bubbles in the Northern Vosges, caravans among the vineyards: Alsace has dozens of them. The principle is always the same, a remarkable spot in a natural setting, with deliberately pared-back comfort and a late afternoon arrival.
The limit is the itinerary: these places sit thirty to sixty minutes by road from Strasbourg and Colmar. You sleep well there, but you do not casually head into town for dinner or a museum the next morning.
A cinema room as accommodation
